Working on personal development
ALBERT HEIJN
Albert Heijn is one of the largest (youth) employers in the Netherlands and in corporation with &samhoud, Albert Heijn has organized summer and winter camps to support their employees with personal development.
“I now understand better who I am and what I stand for. I have been given tools to think about this in even greater depth.”
WHY?
Team leaders and assistant supermarket managers at Albert Heijn are often at a crucial stage in their lives: either they are school pupils or students and have to make choices for the future, or they have been working at Albert Heijn for a long time and are at a crossroad in their lives. More insight into who you are, what you are good at and what you want to achieve helps Albert Heijn team leaders gain more self-confidence and make the right choices for the future.
OUR SOLUTION
&samhoud and Albert Heijn joined forces and have organized summer and winter camps for team leaders and assistant supermarket managers for three years in a row.
Over the course of several lively two-day sessions, employees worked on their personal vision: why do I exist, what do I stand for, what do I want to achieve and what am I incredibly good at. There was also plenty of room for connection, creativity and sport. Guidance was provided by &samhoud consultants and employees from Albert Heijn’s head office. We also trained supermarket managers to conduct the sessions in their own branch and invested heavily in the development of the supermarket managers themselves.
IMPACT
In total, over 3,000 employees were reached with a personal vison. Several measurements showed great results. For example, we saw an increase of ~16.5% in “Knowing what you want and what you want to achieve in 5 years” and an increase of 15% in “Setting goals for personal and professional ambitions and pursuing them” among participants of the summer camps.
